The development of Oncology in the North East has been one of the core aspects in SSHRI’s journey over the years. In June 2004, we started Oncology at out Hospital with the technical assistance of Asian Institute of Oncology, Mumbai. We were fortunate enough to have world-renowned Senior Medical Oncologist, Padmashri Prof. Dr. S. H. Advani (Director - Dept. of Medical Oncology, Jaslok Hospital, Mumbai) visit and treat more than 3000 cancer patients from all over Assam and N.E.Region, at our Hospital. 

Currently Dr. R Saharia, MS, trained in onco-surgery is providing full-time treatment and chemotherapy care to patients. Additionally, Senior Medical Oncologists from various prestigious institutions of the country work with us as visiting consultants.
